Then the people of the land hindered the hands of the people of Juda, and troubled them in building.

Therefore shall all hands be faint: and every heart of man shall melt,

We have heard the fame thereof, our hands grow feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, as a woman in labor.

In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Fear not: to Sion: Let not thy hands be weakened.

The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands are grown feeble: anguish hath taken hold of him, pangs as a woman in labour.

Strengthen ye the feeble hands, and confirm the weak knees.

For all these men thought to frighten us, thinking that our hands would cease from the work, and that we would leave off. Wherefore I strengthened my hands the more.

And coming upon him (for he is now weary and weak-handed) I will defeat him: and when all the people is put to flight that is with him I will kill the king who will be left alone.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside to the middle of the gate, to speak to him treacherously. And he stabbed him there in the groin: and he died, in revenge of the blood of Asael his brother.

But Abner the son of Ner, general of Saul's army, took Isboseth the son of Saul, and led him about through the camp,
