Knowest thou not Abner the son of Ner, that to this end he came to thee, that he might deceive thee, and to know thy going out, and thy coming in, and to know all thou dost?

I know thy dwelling, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

Blessed shalt thou be coming in and going out.

WHEREFORE thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest. For wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself. For thou dost the same things which thou judgest.

The Pharisees therefore answered them: Are you also seduced?

And may go out and in before them, and may lead them out, or bring them in: lest the people of the Lord be as sheep without a shepherd.

Send one of you to fetch him: and you shall be in prison, till what you have said be proved, whether it be true or false: or else by the health of Pharao you are spies.

And he answered them: It is otherwise: you are come to consider the unfenced parts of this land.

And remembering the dreams, which formerly he had dreamed, he said to them: You are spies. You are come to view the weaker parts of the land.

And Joab went in to the king, and said: What hast thou done? Behold, Abner came to thee: Why didst thou send him away? And he is gone and departed.

Then Joab, going out from David, sent messengers after Abner, and brought him back from the cistern of Sira, David knowing nothing of it.
