And we have the more firm prophetical word: whereunto you do well to attend, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

I Jesus have sent my angel, to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and stock of David, the bright and morning star.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: to them that dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen.

Search the scriptures, for you think in them to have life everlasting; and the same are they that give testimony of me.

As I also have received of my Father: and I will give him the morning star.

To the law rather, and to the testimony. And if they speak not according to this word, they shall not have the morning light.

Because the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

He was a burning and a shining light: and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.

If then you fulfil the royal law, according to the scriptures, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself; you do well.

Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, who received the word with all eagerness, daily searching the scriptures, whether these things were so.

That you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which things keeping yourselves, you shall do well. Fare ye well.

Who have given testimony to thy charity in the sight of the church: whom thou shalt do well to bring forward on their way in a manner worthy of God.

Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? And from time of old, that we may say: Thou art just? There is none that sheweth, nor that foretelleth, nor that heareth your words.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? How art thou fallen to the earth, that didst wound the nations?

For if the word, spoken by angels, became steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward:
