And the remnant also of the effeminate, who remained in the days of Asa his father, he took out of the land.

So the king of Israel, and the king of Juda, and the king of Edom went: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey. And there was no water for the army, and for the beasts, that followed them.

So Edom revolted from being under Juda, unto this day. Then Lobna also revolted at the same time.

Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt-offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation in Israel; and presently they departed from him, and returned into their own country.

And he put guards in Edom, and placed there a garrison: and all Edom was made to serve David. And the Lord preserved David in all enterprises he went about.

Shall thy blessing be. Thou shalt live by the sword and shalt serve thy brother. And the time shall come, when thou shalt shake off and loose his yoke from thy neck.

And when the king of Moab saw this, to wit, that the enemies had prevailed, he took with him seven hundred men that drew the sword, to break in upon the king of Edom. But they could not.

And there was then no king appointed in Edom.

He slew of Edom in the valley of the Saltpits ten thousand men, and took the rock by war, and called the name thereof Jectehel, unto this day.
