The king shall mourn and the prince shall be clothed with sorrow and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled. I will do to them according to their way and will judge them according to their judgments: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but thou shalt surely be taken: and thou shalt be delivered into his hand. And thy eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth shall speak with thy mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.

Thus saith the Lord: Write this man barren, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for there shall not be a man of his seed that shall sit upon the throne of David and have power any more in Juda.

For I cannot return to my father without the boy, lest I be a witness of the calamity that will oppress my father.

And she went her way, and sat over against him a great way off as far as a bow can carry. For she said: I will not see the boy die. And sitting over against, she lifted up her voice and wept.

The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king, whom thou shalt have appointed over thee, into a nation which thou and thy fathers know not: and there thou shalt serve strange gods, wood and stone.

And all thy wives and thy children shall be brought out to the Chaldeans. And thou shalt not escape their hands, but thou shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and he shall burn this city with fire.

All the princes are fled together, and are bound hard: all that were found are bound together. They are fled far off.

And after this, saith the Lord, I will give Sedecias the king of Juda, and his servants, and his people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence and the sword and the famine, into the hand of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword, and he shall not be moved to pity nor spare them nor shew mercy on them.

And Jeremias said to king Sedecias: In what way have I offended against thee or thy servants or thy people, that thou hast cast me into prison?

Teth. Her gates are sunk into the ground: he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more, and her prophets have found no vision from the Lord.

Say: I am a sign of things to come to you. As I have done, so shall it be done to them. They shall be removed from their dwellings and go into captivity.
