But when Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came up to our land, we said: Come, let us go into Jerusalem, from the face of the army of the Chaldeans and from the face of the army of Syria: and we have remained in Jerusalem.

And the Lord said: I will remove Juda also from before my face, as I have removed Israel. And I will cast off this city Jerusalem, which I chose, and the house, of which I said: My name shall be there.

And the nations came together against him on every side out of the provinces, and they spread their net over him: in their wounds he was taken:

Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will deliver this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hands of the king of Babylon, and they shall take it.

Behold, I will send, and take all the kindreds of the north, saith the Lord, and Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant: and I will bring them against this land and against the inhabitants thereof and against all the nations that are round about it: and I will destroy them and make them an astonishment and a hissing and perpetual desolations.

Behold the days shall come, that all that is in thy house, and that thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon. Nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.

And a great provision of meats was set before them, and they ate and drank. And he let them go: and they went away to their master. And the robbers of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

Therefore, because of you, Sion shall be ploughed as a field, and Jerusalem shall be as a heap of stones, and the mountain of the temple as the high places of the forests.

There was also a man that prophesied in the name of the Lord, Urias the son of Semei of Cariathiarim: and he prophesied against this city and against this land, according to all the words of Jeremias.

I will make this house like Silo: and I will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

To them that come from a country afar off, from the end of heaven: the Lord and the instruments of his wrath, to destroy the whole land.

The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon the house of thy father, days that have not come since the time of the separation of Ephraim from Juda, with the king of the Assyrians.

The word that came to Jeremias concerning all the people of Juda, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda (the same is the first year of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon),

This is the people whom Nabuchodonosor carried away captive: in the seventh year, three thousand and twenty-three Jews.

The children of Babylon and all the Chaldeans, the nobles, and the kings and princes, all the sons of the Assyrians, beautiful young men, all the captains and rulers, the princes of princes and the renowned horsemen.

For behold, I will raise up the Chaldeans, a bitter and swift nation, marching upon the breadth of the earth, to possess the dwelling places that are not their own.

Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will bring evils upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, all the words of the law which the king of Juda hath read.
