So Samuel told him all the words, and did not hide them from him. And he answered: It is the Lord. Let him do what is good in his sight.

Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will.

And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people:

Thus saith the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Juda, joy, and gladness, and great solemnities: only love ye truth and peace.

Mem. Why hath a living man murmured, man suffering for his sins?

Heth. The mercies of the Lord that we are not consumed: because his commiserations have not failed.

And the rest of the acts of Ezechias and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought waters into the city, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?

And Semei said to the king: The saying is good. As my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Semei dwelt in Jerusalem, many days.

Nevertheless in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

Therefore I will gather thee to thy fathers: and thou shalt be gathered to thy sepulchre in peace, that thy eyes may not see all the evils which I will bring upon this place.
