Thus shall you say to Ezechias king of Juda: Let not thy God deceive thee, in whom thou trustest. And do not say: Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hands of the king of the Assyrians.
Thus shall you speak to Ezechias the king of Juda, saying: Let not thy God deceive thee, in whom thou trustest, saying: Jerusalem shall not be given into the hands of the king of the Assyrians.
But if thou wilt answer me: We trust in the Lord our God; Is it not he whose high places and altars Ezechias hath taken away, and hath said to Juda, and Jerusalem: You shall worship before this altar?
But if you say to me: We trust in the Lord our God: Is it not he, whose high places and altars Ezechias hath taken away; and hath commanded Juda and Jerusalem: You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
And the king of the Assyrians sent Tharthan and Rabsaris, and Rabsaces from Lachis to king Ezechias with a strong army to Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem: and they stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the way of the fuller's field.
Lo, thou trustest upon this broken staff of a reed, upon Egypt: upon which if a man lean, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharao king or Egypt to all that trust in him.
