At that time Ezechias broke the doors of the temple of the Lord, and the plates of gold which he had fastened on them, and gave them to the king of the Assyrians.

In the first year and month of his reign he opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.

Wherefore Joas king of Juda took all the sanctified things, which Josaphat, and Joram, and Ochozias, his fathers the kings of Juda had dedicated to holy uses, and which he himself had offered: and all the silver that could be found in the treasures of the temple of the Lord, and in the king's palace: and sent it to Hazael king of Syria. And he went off from Jerusalem.

And Ezechias gave all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the king's treasures.

And the king of the Assyrians sent Tharthan and Rabsaris, and Rabsaces from Lachis to king Ezechias with a strong army to Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem: and they stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the way of the fuller's field.

And Ezechias rejoiced at their coming: and he shewed them the storehouses of his aromatical spices and of the silver and of the gold and of the sweet odours and of the precious ointment, and all the storehouses of his furniture, and all things that were found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house nor in all his dominion that Ezechias shewed them not.

And the rest of the acts of Joas, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?
