In the fourteenth year of king Ezechias, Sennacherib king of the Assyrians came up against the fenced cities of Juda: and took them.
Woe to the Assyrian: he is the rod and the staff of my anger, and my indignation is in their hands.
Go and say to Ezechias: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer, and I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add to thy days fifteen years.
Because her wound is desperate, because it is come even to Juda, it hath touched the gate of my people even to Jerusalem.
Therefore will I lament and howl: I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and a mourning like the ostriches.
