But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. Moreover he consecrated also his son, making him pass through the fire according to the idols of the nations: which the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.

Thou shalt not do in like manner to the Lord thy God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations which the Lord abhorreth, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.

Thou shalt not give any of thy seed to be consecrated to the idol Moloch, nor defile the name of thy God. I am the Lord.

And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the idols of the nations, which the Lord destroyed from before the face of the children of Israel.

But neither hast thou walked in their ways, nor hast thou done a little less than they according to their wickednesses: thou hast done almost more wicked things than they in all thy ways

Thou hast sacrificed and given my children to them, consecrating them by fire.

And they have built the high places of Baal which are in the valley of the son of Ennom, to consecrate their sons and their daughters to Moloch: which I commanded them not, neither entered it into my heart that they should do this abomination and cause Juda to sin.

He hath turned a wilderness into pools of water, and a dry land into water springs.

And he made his sons to pass through the fire in the valley of Benennom. He observed dreams, followed divinations, gave himself up to magic arts, had with him magicians and enchanters: and he wrought many evils before the Lord, to provoke him to anger.

And he did evil before the Lord, according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel:

He also walked in the ways of the house of Achab: for his mother pushed him on to do wickedly.

And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Ennom: that no man should consecrate there his son or his daughter through fire to Moloch.

And he made his son pass through fire. And he used divination, and observed omens, and appointed pythons, and multiplied soothsayers to do evil before the Lord, and to provoke him.

And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Achab had walked (for the daughter of Achab was his wife): and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

There were also the effeminate in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the people whom the Lord had destroyed before the face of the children of Israel.

Neither let there be found among you any one that shall expiate his son or daughter, making them to pass through the fire: or that consulteth soothsayers, or observeth dreams and omens. Neither let there be any wizard,

Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: If any man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, give of his seed to the idol Moloch, dying let him die: the people of the land shall stone him.

And they walked according to the way of the nations which the Lord had destroyed in the sight of the children of Israel and of the kings of Israel; because they had done in like manner.

But neither did Juda itself keep the commandments of the Lord their God: but they walked in the errors of Israel, which they had wrought.

May the Lord be appeased with thousands of rams, or with many thousands of fat he goats? shall I give my firstborn for my wickedness, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

And they forsook all the precepts of the Lord their God. And made to themselves two molten calves, and groves, and adored all the host of heaven. And they served Baal.

But they hearkened not: but were seduced by Manasses, to do evil more than the nations which the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.

Who seek your comfort in idols under every green tree, sacrificing children in the torrents, under the high rocks?
