AND it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Joathan, the son of Ozias, king of Juda, that Rasin king of Syria, and Phacee the son of Romelia king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem, to fight against it: but they could not prevail over it.

Then Rasin king of Syria, and Phacee son of Romelia king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to fight. And they besieged Achaz; but were not able to overcome him.

But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is at hand.

And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant and I will set his throne over these stones which I have hid. And he shall set his throne over them.

For, behold, I begin to bring evil on the city wherein my name is called upon. And shall you be as innocent and escape free? You shall not escape free: for I will call for the sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.

Behold, I will send many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them: and after this, I will send them many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and out of the holes of the rocks.

But the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rasin: and within threescore and five years, Ephraim shall cease to be a people:

For Phacee the son of Romelia slew of Juda a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, all valiant men: because they had forsaken the Lord the God of their fathers.

In those days the Lord began to be weary of Israel: and Hazael ravaged them in all the coasts of Israel,

In that day I will raise up against Heli all the things I have spoken concerning his house: I will begin, and I will make an end.

Thou shalt serve thy enemy, whom the Lord will send upon thee, in hunger, and thirst, and nakedness, and in want of all things. And he shall put an iron yoke upon thy neck, till he consume thee.

But the rest of the acts of Joatham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?

And Joatham slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David his father: and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.

In the two and fiftieth year of Azarias king of Juda, reigned Phacee the son of Romelia over Israel in Samaria twenty years.
