Now Eliseus was sick of the illness whereof he died. And Joas king of Israel went down to him, and wept before him, and said: O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the guider thereof.

For indeed he longed after you all: and was sad, for that you had heard that he was sick.

And Eliseus saw him, and cried: My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the driver thereof. And he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own garments, and rent them in two pieces.
