Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.

But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted, and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ.

And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.

And when supper was done, (the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,)

And to the rest who are at Thyatira: Whosoever have not this doctrine, and who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will not put upon you any other burthen.

To take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas hath by transgression fallen, that he might go to his own place.

And his wife said to him: Dost thou still continue in thy simplicity? Bless God, and die.

And all the dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain from the beginning of the world.

But stretch forth thy hand a little, and touch all that he hath; and see if he blesseth thee not to thy face.

But put forth thy hand, and touch his bone and his flesh: and then thou shalt see that he will bless thee to thy face.
