Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit,

For we are buried together with him by baptism into death; that as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life.

Who in the days of his flesh, with a strong cry and tears, offering up prayers and supplications to him that was able to save him from death, was heard for his reverence.

It is sown in dishonour, it shall rise in glory. It is sown in weakness, it shall rise in power.

Who is on the right hand of God, swallowing down death, that we might be made heirs of life everlasting: being gone into heaven, the angels and powers and virtues being made subject to him.

(For his epistles indeed, say they, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible,)

And in the faith of his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, hath his name strengthened; and the faith which is by him, hath given this perfect soundness in the sight of you all.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Now God hath both raised up the Lord, and will raise us up also by his power.

For which cause I please myself in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ. For when I am weak, then am I powerful.

For we rejoice that we are weak, and you are strong. This also we pray for, your perfection.
