And when there was an assault made by the Gentiles and the Jews with their rulers, to use them contumeliously, and to stone them:

Requesting favour against him, that he would command him to be brought to Jerusalem, laying wait to kill him in the way.

Where, when he had spent three months, the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria; so he took a resolution to return through Macedonia.

And the soldiers' counsel was, that they should kill the prisoners, lest any of them, swimming out, should escape.

Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? or distress? or famine? or nakedness? or danger? or persecution? or the sword?

Why also are we in danger every hour?
