For if he that cometh preacheth another Christ, whom we have not preached; or if you receive another Spirit, whom you have not received; or another gospel which you have not received; you might well bear with him.

For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe.

I speak according to dishonour, as if we had been weak in this part. Wherein if any man dare (I speak foolishly), I dare also.

For you gladly suffer the foolish; whereas yourselves are wise.

For whether we be transported in mind, it is to God; or whether we be sober, it is for you.

Who can have compassion on them that are ignorant and that err: because he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

I am become foolish: you have compelled me. For I ought to have been commended by you: for I have no way come short of them that are above measure apostles, although I be nothing.

We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honourable, but we without honour.

You are now full; you are now become rich; you reign without us; and I would to God you did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Let no man deceive himself: if any man among you seem to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

And Paul said: I would to God, that both in a little and in much, not only thou, but also all that hear me, this day, should become such as I also am, except these bands.

And when Paul was beginning to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews: If it were some matter of injustice, or an heinous deed, O Jews, I should with reason bear with you.

And Jesus rebuked him, and the devil went out of him, and the child was cured from that hour.

And she said to her mistress: I wish my master had been with the prophet, that is in Samaria. He would certainly have healed him of the leprosy which he hath.

And Josue said: Alas, O Lord God, why wouldst thou bring this people over the river Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorrhite, and to destroy us? Would God, we had stayed beyond the Jordan as we began!

But he said: Why hast thou emulation for me? O that all the people might prophesy, and that the Lord would give them his spirit!
