And the fear of the Lord came upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Juda: and they durst not make war against Josaphat.

For the Lord had made them hear, in the camp of Syria, the noise of chariots, and of horses, and of a very great army. And they said one to another: Behold, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hethites, and of the Egyptians; and they are come upon us.

And they took all the cities round about Gerara: for a great fear was come upon all men. And they pillaged the cities, and carried off much booty.

I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come: and will turn the backs of all thy enemies before thee.

And when they were departed, the terror of God fell upon all the cities round about, and they durst not pursue after them as they went away.

The Lord will fight for you: and you shall hold your peace.

And they came into Jerusalem with psalteries, and harps, and trumpets into the house of the Lord.

Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?

And overthrew the wheels of the chariots, and they were carried into the deep. And the Egyptians said: Let us flee from Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against us.

And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them to Gerara. And the Ethiopians fell even to utter destruction: for the Lord slew them, and his army fought against them, and they were destroyed. And they took abundance of spoils,
