Now Josaphat was rich and very glorious, and was joined by affinity to Achab.

And the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Juda brought presents to Josaphat. And he acquired immense riches, and much glory.

And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Achab had done: for his wife was a daughter of Achab. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

And Jehu the son of Hanani, the seer, met him and said to him: Thou helpest the ungodly; and thou art joined in friendship with them that hate the Lord: and therefore thou didst deserve indeed the wrath of the Lord.

And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Achab had walked (for the daughter of Achab was his wife): and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?

Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.

So when the captains of the cavalry saw Josaphat, they said: This is the king of Israel. And they surrounded him to attack him. But he cried to the Lord, and he helped him, and turned them away from him.

And Josaphat grew, and became exceeding great: and he built in Juda houses like towers, and walled cities.

And Athalia the mother of Ochozias, seeing that her son was dead, arose, and slew all the royal seed.

Now there was not such another as Achab, who was sold to do evil in the sight of the Lord: for his wife Jezabel set him on.

And there passed three years without war between Syria and Israel.

And Josaphat had peace with the king of Israel.

After these things Josaphat king of Juda made friendship with Ochozias king of Israel, whose works were very wicked.
