And he called upon the Lord God, and said: Lord, there is no difference with thee, whether thou help with few, or with many. Help us, O Lord our God: for with confidence in thee, and in thy name, we are come against this multitude. O Lord thou art our God. Let not man prevail against thee.

And they shall fight against thee and shall not prevail: for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.

Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebriateth me, how goodly is it!

For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

And when Juda looked back, they saw the battle coming upon them both before and behind, and they cried to the Lord: and the priests began to sound with the trumpets.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the just runneth to it, and shall be exalted.

And if thou think that battles consist in the strength of the army, God will make thee to be overcome by the enemies: for it belongeth to God both to help, and to put to flight.

And all the men of Juda shouted: and behold when they shouted, God terrified Jeroboam, and all Israel that stood against Abia and Juda.

And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and departed not from it, doing the things that were pleasing before the Lord.

And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians, that dwelt in Gurbaal, and against the Ammonites.

For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days.
