But the servant of the Lord must not wrangle: but be mild towards all men, apt to teach, patient,

Communicating to the necessities of the saints. Pursuing hospitality.

Let a widow be chosen of no less than threescore years of age, who hath been the wife of one husband.

Using hospitality one towards another, without murmuring,

Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.

And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels.

That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.

That you may be blameless, and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among whom you shine as lights in the world.

But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore, and watch in prayers.

For we are made partakers of Christ: yet so, if we hold the beginning of his substance firm unto the end.

Forbidding to marry, to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by the faithful, and by them that have known the truth.

And they were both just before God, walking in all the commandments and justifications of the Lord without blame.

His watchmen are all blind. They are all ignorant: dumb dogs not able to bark, seeing vain things, sleeping, and loving dreams.

Deacons in like manner chaste, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre:

Let deacons be the husbands of one wife: who rule well their children, and their own houses.

Having testimony for her good works, if she have brought up children, if she have received to harbour, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have ministered to them that suffer tribulation, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Impose not hands lightly upon any man, neither be partaker of other men's sins. Keep thyself chaste.
