And he came to the sheepcotes, which were in his way. And there was a cave, into which Saul went, to ease nature. Now David and his men lay hid in the inner part of the cave.

And the Lord will reward every one according to his justice, and his faithfulness: for the Lord hath delivered thee this day into my hand, and I would not put forth my hand against the Lord's anointed.

And said to Saul: Why dost thou hear the words of men that say, David seeketh thy hurt?

But he that did not lie in wait for him, but God delivered him into his hands: I will appoint thee a place to which he must flee.

David therefore went from thence and fled to the cave of Odollam. And when his brethren and all his father's house had heard of it they went down to him thither.

Unto the end, destroy not, for David, for an inscription of a title.

A psalm of David when his son Absalom pursued him. Hear, O Lord, my prayer: give ear to my supplication in thy truth: hear me in thy justice.
