For what glory is it, if committing sin, and being buffeted for it, you endure? But if doing well you suffer patiently; this is thankworthy before God.

For this is thankworthy, if for conscience towards God, a man endure sorrows, suffering wrongfully.

For it is better doing well (if such be the will of God) to suffer, than doing ill.

But if also you suffer any thing for justice' sake, blessed are ye. And be not afraid of their fear, and be not troubled.

And if you love them that love you, what thanks are to you? for sinners also love those that love them.

And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this?

Even unto this hour we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no fixed abode;
