And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.

He sent also to Hiram king of Tyre, saying: As thou didst with David my father, and didst send him cedars, to build him a house, in which he dwelt:

And Hiram the king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons for walls. And they built a house for David.

So Hiram gave Solomon cedar-trees, and fir-trees, according to all his desire.

And every one brought him presents: vessels of silver and of gold, garments and armour, and spices, and horses and mules every year.

And he exercised authority over all the kings from the river Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt.

The Philistines also brought presents to Josaphat, and tribute in silver. And the Arabians brought him cattle, seven thousand seven hundred rams, and as many he-goats.

For there have been powerful kings in Jerusalem: who hare had dominion over all the country that is beyond the river, and have received tribute, and toll, and revenues.

They have thought and spoken wickedness: they have spoken iniquity on high.

But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.

And she hath strong rods to make sceptres for them that bear rule: and her stature was exalted among the branches: and she saw her height in the multitude of her branches.

For he loveth our nation; and he hath built us a synagogue.
