For on what day soever thou shalt go out and shalt pass over the brook Cedron, know that thou shalt be put to death. Thy blood shall be upon thy own head.
And they all wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over. The king also himself went over the brook Cedron: and all the people marched towards the way that looketh to the desert.
Whosoever shall go out of the door of thy house, his blood shall be upon his own head, and we shall be quit. But the blood of all that shall be with thee in the house shall light upon our head, if any man touch them.
WHEN Jesus had said these things, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where there was a garden, into which he entered with his disciples.
That giveth upon usury and that taketh an increase: shall such a one live? He shall not live. Seeing he hath done all these detestable things, he shall surely die: his blood shall be upon him.
And he caused the grove to be carried out from the house of the Lord without Jerusalem to the valley of Cedron. And he burnt it there, and reduced it to dust, and cast the dust upon the graves of the common people.
And the whole valley of dead bodies and of ashes, and all the country of death, even to the torrent Cedron and the corner of the horse-gate towards the east, the Holy of the Lord. It shall not be plucked up and it shall not be destroyed any more for ever.
And the priests went into the temple of the Lord to sanctify it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found within to the entrance of the house of the Lord. And the Levites took it away, and carried it out abroad to the torrent Cedron.
Moreover he also removed his mother Maacha, from being the princess in the sacrifices of Priapus, and in the grove which she had consecrated to him. And he destroyed her den, and broke in pieces the filthy idol, and burnt it by the torrent Cedron.
And their blood shall return the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever. But to David and his seed and his house, and to his throne be peace for ever from the Lord.
And the king said to him: Do as he hath said: and kill him, and bury him. And thou shalt remove the innocent blood which hath been shed by Joab, from me, and from the house of my father.
