And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth, the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth.

As the Lord thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee. And when all answered: He is not here, he took an oath of every kingdom and nation, because thou wast not found.

And the angel answering, said to him: I am Gabriel, who stand before God: and am sent to speak to thee, and to bring thee these good tidings.

And they shall spread them abroad to the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved and whom they have served and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought and adored. So the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the furniture of them.

And now thou sayest: Go, and tell thy master: Elias is here; that he may kill me.

Abdias therefore went to meet Achab, and told him: and Achab came to meet Elias.

But Micheas said to him: As the Lord liveth, whatsoever the Lord shall say to me, that will I speak.

And I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hands of the men whom thou fearest.
