And Roboam the son of Solomon reigned in Juda. Roboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem the city, which the Lord chose out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naama an Ammonitess.

King Roboam therefore was strengthened in Jerusalem, and reigned. He was one and forty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord chose out of all the tribes of Israel, to establish his name there. And the name of his mother was Naama, an Ammonitess.

And to his son I will give one tribe: that there may remain a lamp for my servant David before me always in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen, that my name might be there.

And Roboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David: and his mother's name was Naama an Ammonitess. And Abiam his son reigned in his stead.

Rejoice, and praise, O thou habitation of Sion: for great is he that is in the midst of thee, the Holy One of Israel.

But one tribe shall remain to him for the sake of my servant David, and Jerusalem the city; which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:

If thy people go out to war against their enemies, by what way soever thou shalt send them, they shall pray to thee towards the way of the city, which thou hast chosen, and towards the house, which I have built to thy name.

Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel, for a house to be built, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

The Ammonite and the Moabite, even after the tenth generation, shall not enter into the church of the Lord for ever:

And if the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, that his name should be there, be far off: thou shalt kill of thy herds and of thy flocks, as I have commanded thee, and shalt eat in thy towns, as it pleaseth thee.

But you shall come to the place, which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, and to dwell in it.

You shall make an altar of earth unto me: and you shall offer upon it your holocausts and peace-offerings, your sheep and oxen, in every place where the memory of my name shall be. I will come to thee, and will bless thee.

And the days that Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years. And he slept with his fathers: and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.

That thy eyes may be open upon this house night and day; upon the house of which thou hast said: My name shall be there. That thou mayest hearken to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth in this place to thee.

And king Solomon loved many strange women besides the daughter of Pharao. And women of Moab, and of Ammon, and of Edom, and of Sidon, and of the Hethites:

But as for all the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Juda, Roboam reigned over them.

He was five and thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned five and twenty years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Azuba the daughter of Salai.

And when the kingdom of Roboam was strengthened and fortified, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.
