And they arose out of Madian, and came into Pharan. And they took men with them from Pharan, and went into Egypt to Pharao the king of Egypt: who gave him a house, and appointed him victuals, and assigned him land.

And the children of Israel marched by their troops from the desert of Sinai: and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Pharan.

And he said: The Lord came from Sinai, and from Seir he rose up to us. He hath appeared from mount Pharan, and with him thousands of saints. In his right hand a fiery law.

These are the words, which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan, in the plain wilderness, over against the Red Sea, between Pharan and Thophel and Laban and Haseroth, where there is very much gold:

Then Adad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt: and Adad was then a little boy.

And Adad found great favour before Pharao, insomuch that he gave him to wife the own sister of his wife Taphnes the queen.

And Pharao heard of this word and sought to kill Moses. But he fled from his sight, and abode in the land of Madian: and he sat down by a well.
