Or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of the good:

Not forsaking our assembly, as some are accustomed; but comforting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.

If therefore the whole church come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in unlearned persons or infidels, will they not say that you are mad?

What, have you not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the church of God; and put them to shame that have not? What shall I say to you? Do I praise you? In this I praise you not.

How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation: let all things be done to edification.

Now I praise you, brethren, that in all things you are mindful of me: and keep my ordinances as I have delivered them to you.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart: but reprove him openly, lest thou incur sin through him.

If any man be hungry, let him eat at home; that you come not together unto judgment. And the rest I will set in order, when I come.

When you come therefore together into one place, it is not now to eat the Lord's supper.

Open rebuke is better than hidden love.

For princes are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good: and thou shalt have praise from the same.
