But Aaron and his sons offered burnt-offerings upon the altar of holocausts, and upon the altar of incense, for very work of the holy of holies: and to pray for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

Doing so with this calf, as he did also with that before. And the priest praying for them, the Lord will be merciful unto them.

He shall have mercy on him, and shall say: Deliver him, that he may not go down to corruption. I have found wherein I may be merciful to him.

That it may be an atoning sacrifice, and the hands of the offerers may be sanctified. A stranger shall not eat of them, because they are holy.

Now it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Josue the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, and said to him:

And Moses the servant of the Lord died there, in the land of Moab, by the commandment of the Lord.

And he said to Core: Do thou and thy congregation stand apart before the Lord to-morrow, and Aaron apart.

And the priest shall pray for all the multitude of the children of Israel: and it shall be forgiven them, because they sinned ignorantly, offering notwithstanding a burnt-offering to the Lord for themselves and for their sin and their ignorance.

And he shall immolate the calf before the Lord: and the priests the sons of Aaron shall offer the blood thereof, pouring it round about the altar, which is before the door of the tabernacle.

Their brethren also the Levites, who were appointed for all the ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.
