And they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it. And David offered holocausts, and peace-offerings before the Lord.
So David and all the ancients of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy.
And carried the ark of the Lord, and the tabernacle of the covenant, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, that were in the tabernacle. And the priests and the Levites carried them.
And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony, with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem; and they stood according to their order in the ministry.
These are the chief of the singing men of the families of the Levites, who dwelt in the chambers, by the temple, that they might serve continually day and night in their ministry.
And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singing men, and Chonenias the ruler of the prophecy among the singers: and David also had on him an ephod of linen.
And when the masons laid the foundations of the temple of the Lord the priests stood in their ornaments with trumpets: and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise God by the hands of David king of Israel.
And without the inner gate were the chambers of the singing men in the inner court, which was on the side of the gate that looketh to the north: and their prospect was towards the south, one at the side of the east gate, which looketh toward the north.
