And king David dedicated them to the Lord, together with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all the nations, which he had subdued:

Behold, I in my poverty have prepared the charges of the house of the Lord, of gold a hundred thousand talents, and of silver a million of talents. But of brass, and of iron there is no weight, for the abundance surpasseth all account: timber also and stones I have prepared for all the charges.

And all the vessels of gold, and silver, and brass king David consecrated to the Lord, with the silver and gold which he had taken from all the nations: as well from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, as from the Philistines, and from Amalec.

Behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, stand by thee, and are ready: and both the princes, and the people know how to execute all thy commandments.

So the Levites, and all Juda did according to all that Joiada the high priest had commanded. And they took every one his men that were under him, and that came in by the course of the sabbath, with those who had fulfilled the sabbath, and were to go out. For Joiada the high priest permitted not the companies to depart, which were accustomed to succeed one another every week.

And Ezechias appointed companies of the priests, and the Levites, by their courses, every man in his own office; to wit, both of the priests, and of the Levites: for holocausts, and for peace-offerings: to minister, and to praise, and to sing in the gates of the camp of the Lord.

The children of the porters: The children of Sellum, the children of Ater, the children of Telmon, the children of Accub, the children of Hatita, the children of Sobai. In all a hundred thirty-nine.

For in the days of David and Asaph from the beginning there were chief singers appointed, to praise with canticles and give thanks to God.
