Now in time past, in Israel when a man went to consult God he spoke thus: Come, let us go to the seer. For he that is now called a prophet, in time past was called a seer.
Now the acts of king David first and last are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer:
Go, and speak to David, and tell him: Thus saith the Lord: I give thee the choice of three things. Choose one which thou wilt, and I will do it to thee.
All these were the sons of Heman the seer of the king, in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
And he set the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, and psalteries, and harps according to the regulation of David the king, and of Gad the seer, and of Nathan the prophet: for it was the commandment of the Lord by the hand of his prophets.
