Abram, this is Abraham.
Thou, O Lord God, art he who chosest Abram, and broughtest him forth out of the fire of the Chaldeans, and gavest him the name of Abraham.
And he spoke thus to the people: Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Your fathers dwelt of old on the other side of the river: Thare the father of Abraham, and Nachor. And they served strange gods.
Neither shall thy name be called any more Abram. But thou shalt be called Abraham: because I have made thee a father of many nations.
