He replied, ‘I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’


He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.


For every one of God’s promises  is ‘Yes’ in him. Therefore, through him we also say ‘Amen’  to the glory of God.


But I have other sheep   that are not from this sheepfold; I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.


to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles,  serving as a priest of the gospel of God.  God’s purpose is that the Gentiles may be an acceptable offering,  sanctified by the Holy Spirit.


What then? If some were unfaithful,  will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness?


At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise,  without hope  and without God in the world.


As you once disobeyed God but now have received mercy through their disobedience,


Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity towards those who have fallen but God’s kindness  towards you #– #if you remain in his kindness.  Otherwise you too will be cut off.


This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace,  to guarantee it to all the descendants   #– #not only to the one who is of the law  but also to the one who is of Abraham’s faith. He is the father of us all.


God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so that he would be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus.


Paul and Barnabas boldly replied, ‘It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first. Since you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles.


You will show loyalty to Jacob and faithful love to Abraham, as you swore to our ancestors from days long ago.


What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: Flesh  and blood  cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor can the perishable inherit the imperishable.


I do not mean your own conscience, but the other person’s. For why is my freedom judged  by another person’s conscience?


just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,   and to give his life as a ransom for many.’


What am I saying then? That food sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?


What I am saying is this: One of you says, ‘I belong to Paul,’ or ‘I belong to Apollos,’  or ‘I belong to Cephas,’  or ‘I belong to Christ.’


For my mouth tells the truth, and wickedness is detestable to my lips.
