On the seventh day, before sunset, the men of the city said to him: What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion? So he said to them: If you hadn’t ploughed with my young cow, you wouldn’t know my riddle now!


A people rise up like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion. They will not lie down until they devour the prey and drink the blood of the slain.


Saul and Jonathan, loved and delightful, they were not parted in life or in death. They were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.

‘Son of man, lament  for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him, “You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but  you are like a monster  , in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the   rivers.
