Many desire a ruler’s favour, but a person receives justice from the  Lord.


A person’s gift opens doors  for him and brings him before the great.


A bribe  seems like a magic stone to its owner; wherever he turns, he succeeds.


A secret gift soothes anger, and a covert bribe, fierce rage.


A king’s rage is like the roaring of a lion, but his favour is like dew on the grass.


Joseph was in charge of the country; he sold grain to all its people. His brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the ground.


For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
