Those who turn justice into wormwood also throw righteousness to the ground.


They speak mere words, taking false oaths while making covenants. So lawsuits break out like poisonous weeds in the furrows of a field.


All Israel heard about the judgement the king had given, and they stood in awe of the king because they saw that God’s wisdom  was in him to carry out justice.


Do horses gallop on the cliffs? Does anyone plough there with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood   –


But when he became strong, he grew arrogant,  and it led to his own destruction. He acted unfaithfully against the Lord his God by going into the Lord’s sanctuary to burn incense on the incense altar.


The king will surely listen in order to keep his servant from the grasp of this man who would eliminate both me and my son from God’s inheritance.


By justice a king brings stability to a land, but a person who demands ‘contributions’ demolishes it.
