Poverty and disgrace come to those who ignore discipline, but the one who accepts correction will be honoured.


A wise son responds to his father’s discipline, but a mocker doesn’t listen to rebuke.


Listen to counsel and receive instruction so that you may be wise later in life.  ,


Proclaim these things; encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard  you.


This testimony is true.  For this reason, rebuke them sharply,  so that they may be sound in the faith


Then David said to his son Solomon, ‘Be strong and courageous,  and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He won’t leave you or abandon you  until all the work for the service of the Lord’s house is finished.


‘As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind,  for the Lord searches every heart and understands the intention of every thought.  If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will reject you for ever.


Solomon’s proverbs: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son, heartache to his mother.


For a command is a lamp, teaching is a light, and corrective discipline is the way to life.


If you respond to my warning,  , then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.


A wise correction to a receptive ear is like a gold ring or an ornament of gold.


The tongue that heals is a tree of life, but a devious tongue  breaks the spirit.


The house of the righteous has great wealth, but trouble accompanies the income of the wicked.


The fear of the  Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and discipline.
