but in your hearts regard  Christ  the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defence to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.


A fool gives full vent to his anger,  , but a wise person holds it in check.


Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.


The tongue of the wise makes knowledge attractive, but the mouth of fools blurts out foolishness.


Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow   of the heart.


Do not let your mouth bring guilt on you,  and do not say in the presence of the messenger that it was a mistake.  Why should God be angry with your words and destroy the work of your hands?


Do you see someone who speaks too soon? There is more hope for a fool than for him.


The heart of a wise person instructs his mouth; it adds learning to his speech.  ,


Every sensible person acts knowledgeably, but a fool displays his stupidity.


When there are many words, sin is unavoidable, but the one who controls his lips is prudent.


For by uttering boastful, empty words,  they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped  from those who live in error.


The lips of the righteous know what is appropriate, but the mouth of the wicked, only what is perverse.
