Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptised by him.
But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned in a dream, he withdrew to the region of Galilee.
and they were baptised by him in the River Jordan, confessing their sins.
But John tried to stop him, saying, ‘I need to be baptised by you, and yet you come to me? ’
I didn’t know him, but I came baptising with water so that he might be revealed to Israel.’
