Matthew 26:18

‘Go into the city to a certain man,’ he said, ‘and tell him, “The Teacher says: My time is near; I am celebrating the Passover at your place   with my disciples.” ’

Jesus told them, ‘My time   has not yet arrived, but your time is always at hand.


Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said, ‘Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so that the Son   may glorify you,


Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world to the Father.  Having loved his own who were in the world,  he loved them to the end.


Then they tried to seize him. Yet no one laid a hand on him because his hour had not yet come.


Go up to the festival yourselves. I’m not going up to this festival,   because my time has not yet fully come.’


Jesus replied to them, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man   to be glorified.


Every day while I was with you in the temple,   you never laid a hand on me. But this is your hour   #– #and the dominion of darkness.’


Having said this, she went back and called her sister Mary, saying in private, ‘The Teacher is here and is calling for you.’


While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue leader’s house and said, ‘Your daughter is dead. Why bother the teacher  any more? ’


‘You know   that the Passover takes place after two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.’


You are not to be called instructors either, because you have one Instructor, the Messiah.


‘But you are not to be called “Rabbi,” because you have one Teacher,   and you are all brothers and sisters.


If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them at once.’


Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ Turning around, she said to him in Aramaic,  ‘Rabboni! ’  #– #which means ‘Teacher.’


So immediately he went up to Jesus and said, ‘Greetings, Rabbi! ’ and kissed him.


So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
