‘Brothers and sisters, it was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of David, foretold about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.


After receiving the piece of bread, he immediately left. And it was night.


Now when it was time for supper, the devil  had already put it into the heart of Judas,  Simon Iscariot’s son,  to betray  him.


Then Judas, his betrayer, seeing that Jesus had been condemned, was full of remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.


While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived.  A large mob with swords and clubs was with him from the chief priests and elders of the people.


Judas,  who betrayed  him, also knew the place, because Jesus often met there with his disciples.


Judas, his betrayer, replied, ‘Surely not I, Rabbi? ’ ‘You have said it,’ he told him.


Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot  (who was about to betray him), said,


Jesus replied, ‘He’s the one I give the piece of bread to after I have dipped it.’   When he had dipped the bread,  he gave it to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son.


Now this man acquired a field with his unrighteous wages. He fell headfirst, his body burst open and his intestines spilled out.
