Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work,  because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.


I am speaking as to sensible people. Judge for yourselves what I am saying.

‘It is like   a man on a journey, who left his house, gave authority to his servants,   gave each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to be alert.


Or those eighteen that the tower in Siloam   fell on and killed #– #do you think they were more sinful than all the other people who live in Jerusalem?


‘Listen   to another parable:   There was a landowner, who planted a vineyard, put a fence round it, dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower.   He leased it to tenant farmers and went away.


‘Yes,’ he said. When he went into the house, Jesus spoke to him first,  ‘What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings collect tariffs or taxes? From their sons or from strangers? ’   ,


Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar  or not? ’


But he replied to him, ‘I don’t want to go. Instead, I will go to my own land and my relatives.’


So they answered Jesus, ‘We don’t know.’ And he said to them, ‘Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.


‘He answered, “I don’t want to,” but later he changed his mind and went.
