When the people saw the sign  he had done, they said, ‘This truly is the Prophet  who is to come  into the world.’


When some from the crowd heard these words, they said, ‘This truly is the Prophet.’


Then fear  came over everyone,  and they glorified God,  saying, ‘A great prophet has risen among us,’  and ‘God has visited  his people.’


‘This is the Moses who said to the Israelites: God   will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.   ,


Again they asked the blind man, ‘What do you say about him, since he opened your eyes? ’ ‘He’s a prophet,’  he said.


Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfil what was spoken through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.


‘Sir,’ the woman replied, ‘I see that you are a prophet.


‘What then? ’ they asked him. ‘Are you Elijah? ’ ‘I am not,’ he said. ‘Are you the Prophet? ’ ‘No,’ he answered.


But others said, ‘He’s Elijah.’  Still others said, ‘He’s a prophet, like one of the prophets from long ago.’


‘What things? ’ he asked them. So they said to him, ‘The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth,  who was a prophet  powerful in action and speech  before God and all the people,


So they asked him, ‘Why then do you baptise if you aren’t the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet? ’


Yet it is necessary that I   travel today, tomorrow, and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet   to perish   outside of Jerusalem.


When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘This man, if he were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him #– #she’s a sinner! ’


When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in an uproar, saying, ‘Who is this? ’


But if we say, “Of human origin,” we’re afraid of the crowd,  because everyone considers John to be a prophet.’


Although they were looking for a way to arrest him, they feared the crowds, because the people regarded him as a prophet.
