Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfil what was spoken through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.

When he had gone out to the gateway, another woman saw him and told those who were there, ‘This man was with Jesus the Nazarene! ’


Now all this took place to fulfil what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:


For we have found this man to be a plague,  an agitator  among all the Jews throughout the Roman world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.


‘Fellow Israelites, listen to these words: This Jesus of Nazareth was a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through him, just as you yourselves know.


Pilate also had a sign made and put on the cross. It said: Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.


Then he asked them again, ‘Who is it that you’re seeking? ’ ‘Jesus of Nazareth,’ they said.


‘Jesus of Nazareth,’ they answered. ‘I am he,’   Jesus told them. Judas, who betrayed him, was also standing with them.


When they had completed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.


In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel  was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,


‘This is the law of the Nazirite: on the day his time of consecration is completed, he is to be brought to the entrance to the tent of meeting.


Making a vow,  she pleaded, ‘Lord of Armies, if you will take notice of your servant’s affliction,  remember and not forget me, and give your servant a son, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.’  ,


The crowds were saying, ‘This is the prophet Jesus  from Nazareth in Galilee.’


In  those days Jesus came from Nazareth  in Galilee  and was baptised in the Jordan by John.


‘Jesus of Nazareth  is passing by,’ they told him.
