Woe to the world because of offences. For offences will inevitably come, but woe to that person by whom the offence comes.

He  said to his disciples, ‘Offences will certainly come,   but woe   to the one through whom they come!


Indeed, it is necessary that there be factions  among you, so that those who are approved may be recognised among you.


The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him,   but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had not been born.’


For some people, who were designated for this judgement long ago,  , have come in by stealth;  they are ungodly,  turning the grace of our God into sensuality and denying  Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord.


Your message is to be sound beyond reproach,  so that any opponent will be ashamed, because he doesn’t have anything bad to say about us.


to be self-controlled, pure, workers at home, kind, and in submission  to their husbands, so that God’s word  will not be slandered.


All who are under the yoke as slaves should regard their own masters  as worthy of all respect, so that God’s name  and his teaching will not be blasphemed.

So the servants’ sin was very severe in the presence of the Lord, because the men treated the Lord’s offering with contempt.
