Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man,   it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come.

But whoever blasphemes   against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness,   but is guilty   of an eternal sin’   ,  #– #


He said this about the Spirit.  Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit,  for the Spirit  had not yet been given  because Jesus had not yet been glorified.


even though I was formerly a blasphemer,  a persecutor,  and an arrogant man.  But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief,


instructing us to deny godlessness  and worldly lusts  and to live in a sensible, righteous,  and godly  way in the present age,

Those who have a godless heart harbour anger; even when God binds them, they do not cry for help.


This saying is trustworthy  and deserving of full acceptance: ‘Christ Jesus came into the world  to save sinners’   #– #and I am the worst of them.

For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.’


Now the one sown among the thorns #– #this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age   and the deceitfulness   of wealth   choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.


and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.


Therefore, just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.


‘Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven for all sins and whatever blasphemies   they utter.

For the training of the body has limited benefit,  but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.


Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant  or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God,  who richly provides us with all things  to enjoy.


because Demas  has deserted me,  since he loved this present world, and has gone to Thessalonica.  Crescens has gone to Galatia,  Titus  to Dalmatia.


Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows  in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
