You will be covered with shame and destroyed for ever because of violence done to your brother Jacob.


Egypt will become desolate, and Edom a desert wasteland, because of the violence done to the people of Judah in whose land they shed innocent blood.


Look! I am on your side; I will turn towards you,  and you will be tilled and sown.


Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: I swear  that the nations all around you will endure their own insults.


Babylon will become a heap of rubble, a jackals’ den, a desolation and an object of scorn, without inhabitant.


But I will strip Esau bare; I will uncover his secret places. He will try to hide,  but he will be unable. His descendants will be destroyed along with his relatives and neighbours. He will exist no longer.


I will make Jerusalem a heap of rubble, a jackals’ den. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, an uninhabited place.


the parched ground will become a pool, and the thirsty land, springs. In the haunt of jackals,  in their lairs, there will be grass, reeds, and papyrus.

And the Lord said to her: Two nations are in your womb; two peoples will come from you and be separated. One people will be stronger than the other, and the elder will serve the younger.


Run! Turn back! Lie low, residents of Dedan, for I will bring Esau’s calamity on him at the time I punish him.


Therefore, hear the plans that the Lord has drawn up against Edom and the strategies he has devised against the people of Teman:  The flock’s little lambs will certainly be dragged away,  and their grazing land will be made desolate because of them.


Hazor will become a jackals’ den, a desolation for ever. No one will live there; no human being will stay in it even temporarily.


Daughter Zion, your punishment is complete; he will not lengthen your exile. But he will punish your iniquity, Daughter Edom, and will expose your sins.


About Edom,  this is what the Lord of Armies says: Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom rotted away?
