And the seed on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy. Having no root, these believe for a while and fall away in a time of testing.


As it is said: Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.   ,


Do horses gallop on the cliffs? Does anyone plough there with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood   –


I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you;  I will remove your heart of stone  and give you a heart of flesh.


Lord, don’t your eyes look for faithfulness? You have struck them, but they felt no pain. You finished them off, but they refused to accept discipline. They made their faces harder than rock, and they refused to return.


I will give them integrity of  heart  and put a new spirit within them; I will remove their heart of stone  from their bodies  and give them a heart of flesh,


‘A sower went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some seed fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the sky devoured it.


Other seed fell among thorns; the thorns grew up with it and choked it.
